Una de mis películas favoritas. Todavía recuerdo la sensación de claustrofobia que sentí en el cine cuando la vi por primera vez. Una perfecta reconstrucción de la vida en un submarino de la segunda Guerra Mundial, la suciedad y hacinamiento frente a la idealización de las películas americanas de propaganda. Una vida de lobos de mar como reflejan en su evolución a lo largo de la película desde la salida en la Rochelle perfectamente uniformados a su llegada al mediterráneo donde parecen naufragos con sus barbas sin afeitar, esto rompe con la imagen idealizada del impoluto soldado alemán. Es interesante observar las relaciones entre los marinos el capitán y el enlace del partido, como resumen del cosmos alemán, el paso de la admiración al nacionalsocialismo a una resignación sobre el futuro de Alemania. Todo ello con una banda sonora excepcional que ayuda a crear una atmosfera verdaderamente claustrofóbica obra de Klaus Doldinger. Pese a su larga duracion más de 3 horas no se hace larga sino todo lo contrario. En resumen verla no os arrepentiréis.

One of my favorite movies. I still remember the feeling of claustrophobia that I felt in the cinema when I saw for the first time. A perfect reconstruction of the life in a submarine of the second world war, dirt and overcrowding with the idealization of the American propaganda films. A life of sea lions as reflected in its evolution throughout the film from the exit at la Rochelle perfectly uniform upon his arrival in the Mediterranean where seem castaways with their beards unshaven, this breaks with the idealized image of the unpolluted German soldier. It is interesting to note the relationship between the Marine Captain and the link of the party, as a summary of the German cosmos, the shift from admiration to national socialism to a resignation on the future of Germany. All this with an exceptional soundtrack which helps to create an atmosphere really claustrophobic work of Klaus Doldinger. Despite their long duration over 3 hours is not long but quite the opposite. See it in short you will not regret.
